THE ENROLLMENT PROCESS

Enrollment/registration is a 2-step process. 

Step 1 is the completion of a packet of materials obtained from the school. This packet includes obtaining General Information, Home Language Survey, Health History, Oral Health Assessment, Emergency Contact Information, and Health Information. Superintendent/Principal Valla schedules time to meet with families and for the families to meet staff.  

Step 2 is the submission of all required documents and proof of immunizations.

Student enrollment is determined by one of the following criteria: 

1) Residence within the boundaries of Vista Del Mar Union School District. Please provide two utility bills (gas, water, electric, etc.) upon registration.
2) An approved Inter-District Boundary Agreement from Vista Del Mar Union School District and your District of residence.

Transitional Kindergarten:  Students who turn five years old September 2nd through December 2nd are eligible for Transitional Kindergarten.

Children entering transitional kindergarten or kindergarten must have:

1. Varicella (Chicken Pox)

2. MMR -1st dose on or after 1st birthday (Measles, Mumps & Rubella)

3. Hepatitis B

4. Polio (3 doses meet requirement if at least one was given on or after the 4th birthday) (OPV or IPV)

5. DTaP (4 doses meet requirement if at least one was given on or after the 4th birthday) (Diptheria, Tetanus & Pertussis)
