If you have a child who will turn 5 years old by September 1st, they are eligible to enroll in kindergarten OR if you have a child who will turn 5 between September 2nd and December 2nd, they are eligible to enroll in our Transitional Kindergarten program. Additionally, if you are new to the Gaviota area and need to register your child for school, we welcome you! 

What to bring: To register your child at Vista De Las Cruces School, please visit our school office during business hours (8am-4pm Monday-Friday, except holidays and school breaks) or call to make an appointment (805-686-1880). Be sure to bring the following documentation:

  • Copy of child’s original birth certificate
  • Immunization records
  • Proof of residency

Support Us

We are committed to providing your children with the very best education possible. With your support, we can go above and beyond our district budget, supplying our students with the “extras” they need to succeed. We thank you in advance for your generous donations to our school.  


Get Involved

There are many ways you can get involved. You can be a part of one of our Vista Volunteers or just come to the meetings to share your ideas and input. Volunteers are always needed for our annual events or helping with our projects and programs. You can make a donation to help support our education efforts. We encourage you to come to our board meetings and get involved with important issues facing our school community. Contact the office for more information about how you can get involved today!

Vista Volunteers

The Vista Volunteers is a non-profit organization run by parents and community members of Vista de Las Cruces School. The group supports programs not funded by the school budget. The Vista Volunteers organize and support many activities including the Halloween Carnival, Thanksgiving Feast, Spring Olympics, Teacher Appreciation Luncheon and End of School Year Picnic. The group also financially supports school assemblies and field trips in addition to making contributions to the 8th grade trip, Alumni Scholarships, Library fund, Garden Program. Vista Del Mar Foundation

The Vista del Mar Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated solely to the betterment of education at Vista de Las Cruces School. The mission of the Foundation is to provide additional funding to the Vista del Mar Union School District to support co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
